Travis County Front Porch
Going from a small uncovered walkway to a full porch can add a lot to your home’s value as well as functionality. That was the case for this project where the homeowner wanted something that matched the existing aesthetic while providing for a cool place to sit and enjoy time outdoors.
The unpainted cedar columns matched a porch on the rear of the house and the tongue & groove pine finished the ceiling. Special care was taken with the roofing application to mitigate water intrusion from the large amount of water falling from the 2nd story dormer roof-line.
The homeowner requested ceiling mounted power outlets for future ceiling-mounted fans or Christmas lights. Overall, this project turned out very nice and I know the homeowner will enjoy it for years to come.
